CEARFOSS — Two cars collided at the intersection of Castle Hill Road and Greencastle Pike (Md. 63) Monday morning, Trooper Charles Faith of the Maryland State Police said.

Nobody was injured, he said.

The accident happened when a Mitsubishi turned onto Greencastle Pike from Castle Hill Road,, pulling out in front of a Ford Taurus headed southbound on Greencastle Pike, Faith said.

The front of the cars hit each other, and the Taurus spun across the road into the grass and hit a pole on Greencastle Pike, according to Faith.

There were no passengers in either vehicle, he said.

Police responded to the accident at 7:34 a.m. Monday and blocked off Castle Hill Road from Greencastle Pike. The road didn't reopen until the Taurus was towed away at 8:15.

Both cars had to be towed away.

A firetruck from the Maugansville Volunteer Fire Company was on the scene, as well as the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

The scene was cleared by 8:20 a.m.
