Alumni soccer games planned Sunday, Oct. 2

The Clear Spring High School alumni soccer games will be held Sunday, Oct. 2.  Graduating years 1998 to 2010 will play at 4 p.m. Graduating years 1997 and before will play at 5:30 p.m. The games are for both men and women.

Clear Spring Garden Club to meet

The Clear Spring Garden Club will have its first meeting of its calendar year Wednesday at 7 p.m. at St. John’s UCC. The guest speaker will be Katherine Phillips, a master gardener in Frederick County, Md. She will discuss native, perennial plants and have some for sale. Refreshments will be served. The public is invited.  

Membership costs $12 for nine meetings. Also, this year is the year for Christmas in Clear Spring on Saturday, Dec. 10. If any Main Street residents would like to be included for an open house. leave a message at 301-842-3790.

Potpie dinner planned

District 15 Civic Organization will hold its ham and chicken slippery potpie supper Saturday, Sept. 24, from 4 p.m. until sold out at the Big Pool Community Building.

Proceeds go to the building fund.

The menu includes all-you-can-eat potpie, stewed tomatoes, coleslaw, applesauce, cake and drink. All dinners are eat in or carry out. No quarts will be sold. The meal costs $7 for adults, $4 for those ages 12 and younger, and preschoolers eat free.
