St. John's Lutheran Church plans rummage sale

St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hagerstown will hold its second annual fall rummage sale Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

The sale will be held in the lower level of the Education Building, behind the church. Food and drinks will be available. Proceeds benefit the Pastor’s Discretionary Fund, which helps members of the community.

The church is at 141 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown.

Hagerstown Lions Club

Lion Jim Fritsch reported that the club’s share of the net revenue from the fifth annual Discovery Classic Golf Tournament will be approximately $5,200 thanks to a participant who sank a 50-foot putt in the $10,000 putting contest for which he received $5,000 and co-sponsors Discovery Station and Hagerstown Lions Club split $5,000.  

The tournament was held July 22 with more than 90 players.  

South High yearbook update

Attention South Hagerstown High School students: The 2010-11 yearbook supplements are at the school for those who bought a yearbook. Those who graduated last spring can stop by the front desk and current students can go to room 4245 during their lunch shift to pick up copies.

Fall bargain sale

The Women’s Club will hold its fall bargain sale Friday, Sept. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Household items, clothing, jewelry and collectibles will be sold.

The club is at 31 S. Prospect St. in Hagerstown.
