Camille Heim, a 2009 Boonsboro High School graduate, was one of 91 students selected for the West Virginia University School of Pharmacy Class of 2015.
 
Following several days of orientation, the new pharmacy students were recognized at the White Coat Ceremony, held Aug. 20 at the Waterfront Place Hotel in Morgantown, W.Va.

The ceremony included dinner and several speakers, followed by the student pledge of professionalism. Students were presented with their white coats, which were donated by alumni, friends, faculty and staff, then they each signed the honor code.

The Pharm. D. degree is a four-year curriculum.
Camille is the daughter of Ed and Janet Heim of Hagerstown.


ELKINS, W.Va. — The following area students were named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Davis & Elkins College:

  • Bradley Banzhoff of Hagerstown is majoring in physical education. He is the son of Brian and Aleesa Banzhoff.
  • Joshua Kehr of Clear Spring is majoring in criminology. He is the son of John and Kathryn Kehr.
  • Millie Omps of Paw Paw, W.Va., is majoring in theater education. She is the daughter of David and Brenda Omps.


ASHLAND, Ohio — Rebecca Gossard of Hagerstown is a member of the Ashland University women’s golf team.

Gossard is majoring in early childhood education.

She is a 2011 graduate of North Hagerstown High School.

She is the daughter of William and Kimberely Gossard of Hagerstown.


LISLE, Ill. — Benedictine University announced that it has awarded master’s degrees to students who completed their requirements in May.

Area graduates included:
  •  Ryan R. Jorgensen of Frederick, Md., who earned a Master of Public Health.
  •  Carolle M. Cox of Frederick, who earned a Master of Public Health.


HAYS, Kan. — Michael Paul Bergmann of Frederick, Md., graduated from Fort Hays State University with a Bachelor of General Studies.


ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The following area students enrolled at Rochester Institute of Technology’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf, the nation’s first and largest technological college for deaf and hard-of-hearing students:
  • Shane Brewer of Thurmont, Md., a graduate of Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, Md., is the son of Van and Diane Brewer.
  • Maxwell Latin of Keedysville, a graduate of Maryland School for the Deaf, is the son of Rosemary Latin.
  • Nick McClain of Middletown, Md., a graduate of Maryland School for the Deaf, is the son of Misty Minnich and Shawn McClain.
  • Joshua Withrow of Frederick, a graduate of Maryland School for the Deaf, is the son of Debra Garner.
  • Jonathan Withrow of Frederick, a graduate of Maryland School for the Deaf,  is the son of Dale and Judith Withrow.
  • Isaac Lee Cline, of Myersville, Md., a graduate of Maryland School for the Deaf.
