KEEDYSVILLE — A water shutdown for the entire town of Keedysville is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 20, according to the town's website,

The water shutdown is expected to begin 9 a.m. on Sept. 20 and last all day.

"Please plan accordingly and tell your neighbors," the announcement on the town's website advised.

Crews from C. William Hetzer Inc.  have been working to replace a water main on Main Street (Md. 845) in the town since early April, said Dan Conley, a supervisor for the company.

"The water main here was very old," Conley said.

Main Street has been subject to periodic lane closures since the water main replacement work began. Temporary above-ground water lines have been placed in areas where the replacement work is being done.

Conley said he hopes the work is completed by Thanksgiving.

"We are about halfway done now," he said. "We need to finish before it gets too cold, though."
