Library to hold proposal writing workshop

Washington County Free Library will host a free workshop on proposal writing basics for nonprofit organizations Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m. in the Western Maryland Room at the downtown location at 59 W. Washington St. in Hagerstown.

The workshop will be led by Harry Sachs, Business and Government Information Center librarian. It is an overview of the basic skills needed for writing a proposal, especially for new proposal writers in nonprofit organizations.

Caroline Herbert, manager, Multimedia and On-Demand Training for the Foundation Center’s Washington office, will offer tips on the key components of writing grant proposals, including packaging and follow-up.  

The workshop will also provide suggestions on where more information on proposal writing, including sample proposals, can be found.

Registration is required. Space is limited. To register, call all Sachs at 301-791-5169.
