Two teens escape from Cedar Ridge Children's Home in stolen van

WILLIAMSPORT — Authorities are searching for two boys who allegedly stole a van and fled from the Cedar Ridge Children’s Home on Monday, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

Malik Smith, 14, and Derrell Payne, 16, both of Baltimore, are accused of taking a white 2008 Chevrolet Express passenger van that belonged to the home at about 1 p.m. Monday, according to a sheriff’s office news release.

The sheriff’s office said the van was recovered Monday evening in Howard County, Md.
