WILLIAMSPORT — The Md. 63 bridge over the CSX Railroad has reopened after being closed since June for repair work.
Work is still continuing under the bridge, but the road will remain open.
The steel understructure of the bridge still has to be repainted, said a worker for the Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) who did not want his name revealed. That's expected to be completed in about two weeks, he said.
The deck on the bridge was ripped up in June when the repair work began. The beams under the bridge were the only part of the bridge that stayed in place while the work continued throughout the summer.
Concrete General was contracted by the SHA to work on the project, which cost around $1.3 million, according to a published report in June.
