Shalom Christian Academy welcomes 3 new teachers

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Shalom Christian Academy welcomed three new teachers to its faculty this year.  

Crystal Etchberger is teaching one of the fourth-grade classes. She is a graduate of Penn State University and was a teacher for eight years in the Waynesboro (Pa.) Area School District.  

While her daughter was young, she taught for two years at the Growing Tree Preschool and then returned to Waynesboro as a long-term sub.  Her daughter is in third grade at SCA.

Melody Peckman is one of the second-grade teachers and is a Shalom alumnus (class of 2004).  She graduated from Shippensburg (Pa.) University with a degree in elementary education and worked as a long-term sub for the Waynesboro Area School District.

Michelle Gordon is teaching high school science.

She graduated from Wilson College with a degree in biology, then obtained her teaching certification in biology and environmental education from Shippensburg University.

Shalom Christian Academy is at 126 Social Island Road in Chambersburg.
