Man stabbed in downtown Hagerstown

A man was stabbed three times early Saturday outside the Elks Lodge at 326 Jonathan St. in Hagerstown, the Hagerstown Police Department said in a news release.

That stabbing happened around 2 a.m. as the man was standing outside the lodge, police said.

After being stabbed, the man hailed a cab and went to Meritus Medical Center for treatment.

"His injuries were serious, but he appears to be stable at this time," police said in a press release issued Saturday at 7 a.m.

The name of the victim was not released.

The victim could not provide a description of his assailant, police said.
