The Valley Art Association held a reception Friday to celebrate its 20th anniversary at the Mansion House Art Gallery at Hagerstown's City Park.
The association has an exhibit of its members' work at the gallery through Sept. 25.
Marjorie Tressler, the gallery's director, said there is a good representation at the exhibit, including sculpture and watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings.
About 20 to 30 artists are included in the exhibit, which began in early August, she said.
Tressler said the association represents artists from Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
The association chose its current name in 1983, according to its website.
The group had met at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts and other locations until it moved into the Mansion House Art Gallery in 1991, the website said.
The gallery is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday.
