SHARPSBURG — Volunteers are needed at Antietam National Battlefield on Saturday, Sept. 24, as part of National Public Lands Day.
Registration is from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at the Antietam National Battlefield Visitor's Center, 5831 Dunker Church Road, Sharpsburg; work projects are from 9 a.m. to noon.
Volunteers are needed at the battlefield to plant wildflower plugs in restoration areas, and build and restore hiking trails throughout the park.
