Football is back

September 05, 2011|Susie Hoffman | Around Funkstown

Good morning friends.

It's been such a busy week with school schedules and Labor Day celebrations.

Football is back

High school football opened in the county Friday. How did you miss that? Well, be sure to head over to some of the school stadiums this Friday for a hot dog and a good time. Teams playing at home Friday are Williamsport and Hancock. All other county high schools are traveling out of the county for their games.

Pooch Plunge helped the county humane society

The Humane Society of Washington County would like to thank all who came out for their eighth annual Pooch Plunge. This year, more than 230 people and 100 dogs participated, and more than $900 was raised for various shelter programs. Definitely a great turnout and a good amount raised!

Arts festival scheduled

Keep the dates of Sept. 17 and 18 open. The annual Autumn Arts Festival at the Mansion House Gallery at City Park will feature arts and crafts on the porch. On Sept. 18, children's painting and clay sculpting will be featured on the porch.
