Remembrance parade
First Hose Co. of Boonsboro will host a remembrance parade on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 on Sunday at 6:30 p.m. The parade is in memory of fire, rescue and law-enforcement officials who lost their lives on 9/11.
The fire company will also honor all veterans for their service to our country.
Marching units will line up on the school grounds at 5:30 p.m. All fire, rescue and ambulance companies, military and veteran units, military personnel and other interested citizens are welcome to participate.
Also in the parade will be the Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Firetruck, a unit crossing the country to raise awareness for breast cancer research and support of survivors.
The pink truck will end the parade at the fire company on Potomac Street where all are invited to come and sign the truck or leave a message in memory or of hope.

Cheerleaders raising funds
The Boonsboro High School cheerleaders have several fundraisers coming up to offset the cost of purchasing cheer gear.
During Boonesborough Days on Friday and Saturday, the cheerleaders will host a yard sale and bake sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the entrance to the school complex.
A Cinderella's Closet of gently used prom and homecoming dresses will also be available for sale.
Throughout September, the cheerleaders will be selling Hadley Farms baked goods. Cinnamon buns and carrot cakes are available for $4 each.
Trinity church yard sale
Yard sales will abound this weekend, but be sure to make time for the one at Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ at 33 Potomac St. in Boonsboro. A treasure trove of items will be on sale on Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. during Boonesborough Days.
Fahrney-Keedy sale
Another "not to miss sale:" The Auxiliary at Fahrney-Keedy Home and Village at 8507 Mapleville Road, Boonsboro, will hold a yard sale, bake sale, and soup and sandwich sale Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Proceeds will be used to purchase items for the benefit of residents of the home.
Library news
The doctor will be in at the library Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 6 p.m. when Dr. William F. Bodenheimer presents "Allergies and Sinuses." Light refreshments will be served. To register, call 301-432-5723.
