CLEAR SPRING — A Glen Burnie, Md., man was charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics after Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of a possibly intoxicated driver early Friday.

Neil Arthur Niefeld, 57, was in a 2000 BMW when a deputy contacted him at about 12 a.m. at the McDonald’s at 12820 Clear Spring Road, police said. An odor of marijuana was detected and a search of the vehicle turned up five 1-gallon bags of suspected marijuana, police said.

Deputies also found a digital scale, 57 1/2 Xanax pills and a Suboxone pill, police said.
