Dinners offered Saturday at Second Christian Church

Second Christian Church, 65 W. North Ave., will have fried chicken and fish dinners Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The menu includes fried chicken or fried fish, potato salad or macaroni and cheese, greens beans, rolls, cake, pie or peach cobbler, and soda.

The meals will be eat in, carry out, or delivered.

The meals cost $8 each. For delivery, call Agnes at 301-797-0407.



SHHS alumni meeting

South Hagerstown High School’s Alumni Association will meet Thursday, Sept. 8, at 7 p.m. in the school’s media center.

Items to be discussed include the yard sale, which will be held on the school grounds Saturday, Sept. 17, and tailgating at homecoming Friday, Sept. 30.

Blossom School

There are still a few spaces available for the Blossom School of Etiquette’s “Being the Best You Can Be” classes.

The class will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hagerstown Presbyterian Church. 20 S. Prospect St. The free classes are for girls ages 7 to 16.

Youth summer jam rescheduled for Sunday

The End of Summer Youth Jam has been rescheduled for Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wheaton Park.

The line-up includes two Hummer limo trucks giving free rides around town for the youths, music featuring River Knot Band and Serious Business Band, comedian Chad Beadle, filmmaker and actor Koran Dunbar, CeeJay The Artist, Heather Gayle, Antwan Thomas, Shane Mac Crabtree, Devyn Hosby, Big Jerz, The Pham, DJ Supa Dupa, and other performers at the band shell.

All ages are welcome to attend.



Movie night

The movie “Mars Needs Moms” will be shown Saturday at 7 p.m. at Bridge of Life Church, 14 S. Potomac St. in Hagerstown.

The movie is free and free popcorn and drinks will be available.



R.I.P.

It is with a heavy heart and sadness — yet rejoicing knowing you are at peace — that I will miss you, Uncle Binkle, and so will the family. You were loved much.
