CLEAR SPRING — One person was injured after a pickup truck hit a tree on Orebank Road west of Clear Spring on Thursday morning, Cpt. Daniel Henley of the Washington County Sheriff's Office said.

Sydney Frazee was driving a Ford pickup truck northbound on Orebank Road when a deer ran out in front of her, Henley said.

Henley said Frazee swerved off the road and knocked over a mailbox at 12035 Orebank Road. The truck then crossed the road, hit a cable box and ran into a tree, according to Henley.

Frazee was the only person in the truck. She was taken to Meritus Medical Center, Henley said.

Police responded to the accident at 8:42 a.m. and closed the 12000 block of Orebank Road in both directions upon arriving on the scene.

Two firetrucks from the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Co., Maryland State Police and the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident.

The pickup truck was towed away, and the road reopened around 9:30 a.m. after police cleared the scene.
