Victor M. Wolfe, 91, of Wolfsville, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

Born July 8, 1920, in Wolfsville, Vic was the son of the late Victor B. and B. Gaynel Metzer Wolfe.

He grew up in Wolfsville and in 1953 moved to Plattsburgh, N.Y., where he was a general contractor and owner of Airborne Park Speedway. In 1976, Vic and his family moved back to his family home in Wolfsville. He had a special love for race cars and horses, building race cars and participating in trail and buggy rides with his horses.

Surviving are his wife of 64 years, Mabel A. Souders Wolfe; daughters, Victoria E. McCormick and Rhonda Kindr and husband, Sam; sons, Jerry D. Wolfe and wife, Nancy, and Rodney V. Wolfe; grandchildren, Julie M. Long and husband, Edward, Amy M. McCormick and fiancee, Douglas Diehl, Beth V. Wheeler and husband, Nelson, David V. Wolfe and wife, Brittany, Tyler J. Wolfe and wife, Aster, Richard Wolfe, Rodney Wolfe, Michael Wolfe and wife, Susie, and Rachel Hardy and husband, Daniel; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Preceding Vic in death were sisters and brothers, Virginia Stains, Audrey McNany, Gayle C. Wolfe, Willis A. Wolfe and Lauren W. Wolfe; son-in-law, Paul J. McCormick; and daughter-in-law, Catherine Wolfe.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Ricketts Funeral Home, 504 Main St., Myersville, Md., with Pastor Randall Reid officiating. Burial will be in German Reformed Cemetery, Wolfsville.

The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
