Redden resigns as HCC assistant coach

Earl Redden resigned Monday as Hagerstown Community College’s assistant basketball coach, after his current employer promoted him to a new job in Gainesville, Fla.

“Earl has been a valuable employee and has been instrumental in helping the college bring excellence to the athletic department,” HCC athletic director Bo Myers wrote in an email Monday. “He stepped up and served as head basketball coach during the 2008-09 season. His team won over 20 games and, more importantly, his players continued their education at California State-San Luis Obispo, Montana State, Tarleton State and other NCAA universities.

“I personally thank Earl for his dedicated service and wish him well.”
