Pedestrian struck by vehicle in St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS, Pa. — A pedestrian was flown to the hospital after he was struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning on Gehr Road in St. Thomas Township, a Franklin County Emergency Services dispatcher said.

The dispatcher said the accident happened in the 6700 block of Gehr Road at about 7:15 a.m.

A Pennsylvania State Police dispatcher said further details were unavailable.

Cow shot and killed in Franklin County

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police said they are looking for the person who shot and killed a cow in Brush Creek Township, Pa.

It’s believed the Hereford cow was shot between Friday and Monday in the 8000 block of Old 126, according to a state police news release. The cow was valued at $800.

Warfordsburg man charged with assault

WARFORDSBURG, Pa. — A Warfordsburg, Pa., man was charged with simple assault in connection with the assault of a woman Saturday along Stoney Break Road in Bethel Township, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Danny Lynn Schetrompf, 38, of Warfordsburg, also was charged with harassment, according to a state police news release.

Schetrompf is accused of approaching the victim’s vehicle at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday and slamming her head into the steering wheel three times, troopers said. The woman suffered injuries to her head and neck.

Schetrompf was taken to the Franklin County Jail on a $30,000 bond, police said.

A jail employee said Tuesday that Schetrompf had been released.

Theft reported in Washington County
