Cub Scouts to hold information night

Williamsport's Cub Scout Pack 17 will host an information night at Williamsport Elementary School Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The event will include information about the benefits of Scouting and the many activities Pack 17 has planned for the upcoming year. Cub Scouts is open to boys in grades 1 to 5.

First Friday cruise-in to benefit food bank

A cruise-in will be held Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. on Potomac Street. The Town Center block of Potomac Street beginning at the Red Barron building will be closed to traffic.

Entertainment will be by the variety band Chubby, which is back by popular demand.

A donation of $3 is requested to enter. Proceeds benefit the Williamsport Food Bank.

Zumba classes to begin

The fall/winter Zumba session at St. Mark's Parish Hall, 18313 Lappans Road, will begin Tuesday and run through Wednesday, Dec. 21. Classes will be Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday at 5:30 and 6:45 p.m. The class costs $2 per class for a 15-class punch card. The drop-in fee costs $5 per class.

Basket and purse bingo

The Williamsport Volunteer Fire and EMS will hold a Vera Bradley and luxury purse bingo on Sunday, Sept. 11, at Williamsport Fire Hall.

Tickets cost $25 and includes lunch. Doors open at 11 a.m., and bingo starts at 1 p.m.

Longaberger bingo

Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program will hold a Longaberger basket bingo event on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Order of Red Men Tribe 84 on Lappans Road.

Tickets cost $25 each for 25 games and lunch. Doors will open at 11 a.m., lunch will be served at noon and games will begin at 1 p.m.

There will also be raffles and tips jars. All baskets will be filled and will include the 2011 holiday baskets.

Seats are limited. Call Carrie at 301-582-8236 to get tickets in advance. You must be 18 years old to play.

Proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program.
