Vincent William “Binkle” Keyes, 68, of Hagerstown, Md., died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Meritus Medical Center near Hagerstown.

Born Jan. 26, 1943, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Frank Sylvester and Mary Eleanor (Snively) Keyes.

Vincent was a life resident of Hagerstown and graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1961.

He went to work for Mack Trucks in 1965, and was a machinist until his retirement in 1995.

He was a past member of the Hagerstown Boosters Club and a life member of Ebenezer AME Church, Hagerstown.

He is survived by two brothers, Reginald S. Keyes and Russell V. Keyes; two sisters, Mary V. Rideout and Arnetta V. Doleman; one aunt, Grace Snively, all of Hagerstown; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Vincent was preceded in death by three brothers, Kenneth E. Keyes Sr., Frank M. Keyes and William Flythe; two sisters, Mae E. “Mazie” Smith and Gussie E. Keyes; and an uncle, Rudolph Keyes.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011, at Greater Campher Temple/King’s Apostle Church, 125 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown. The Rev. Leroy Jackson will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Hagerstown.

The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at Ebenezer AME Church, 40 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Ebenezer AME Church, 40 W. Bethel St., Hagerstown, MD 21740.

The Gerald N. Minnich Funeral Home, Bryan K. Kenworthy P.A., 305 N. Potomac St., Hagerstown, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
