Franklin County 4-H Pig Club completes successful year

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — The Franklin County 4-H Pig Club completed another successful year by finishing with its roundup.

During the past year, the 21 Pig Club members attended many meetings to learn how to raise their 48 pigs to be the best market product.

Samuel Wingert of the senior class and Esdon Yeager of the junior class were judged grand champions in showing.

Reserve champions in showing were Claudia Hissong for the senior class and Renee Sollenberger for the junior class.

Esdon Yeager showed the grand champion pig and Chase Cashell had the reserve grand champion pig.

The grand champion pair was raised by Claudia Hissong and the reserve grand champion pair by Samuel Wingert.

The club thanked Greencastle (Pa.) Livestock Market for providing its facilities and lunch, and for the cooperation of its employees. AgChoice Farm Credit sponsored the trophies and Dice Show Pigs sponsored the ear tags.
