PREP VOLLEYBALL

Shalom 3, Broadfording 2

Natasha Gibble had eight aces, seven kills and seven assists to lead Shalom Christian to a 17-25, 25-14, 21-25, 25-13, 15-7 victory over Broadfording on Friday in both teams’ season and Mason Dixon Christian Conference opener.

Ashlyn Blank added 13 aces, 14 digs and nine assists for Shalom.

Sarah Couch had 10 kills and four aces for the Lions. Katie Connolly had six kills, five aces and nine assists, and Anne Hunt added 10 assists.



BOYS SOCCER

Heritage 1, Grace Academy 0

Chad Lowry scored midway through the first half on an assist by Bryce Nigh to give Heritage Academy a victory over Grace Academy in the season and Mason Dixon Christian Conference opener for both teams Friday.

Christian Strickler made eight saves to get the shutout for the Eagles.
