Dot Bell and Clara Broadus, the organizers of the annual For Our Kid’s Sake bus trip to the amusement park, want to thank everyone for contributing and making the annual trip a success.
They said this year’s trip to Kings Dominion on Aug. 6 was as much fun as ever for all who participated. This year, 170 attendees made the trip.
Breakfast planned Saturday at church
The Men of Ebenezer AME Church, 40 Bethel St., will sponsor a chicken wings and fries sale Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. The meal costs $5. The event benefits their annual Men’s Day, which will be held in October.
Fitness workout set for Saturday
A free fitness workout will be held Saturday in Wheaton Park at 8:30 a.m.
Participants are asked to bring water, a towel or a mat. Linda Brooks, a certified instructor, will lead the workout, which will include low-impact aerobics.
Blossom School classes to start
The Blossom School of Etiquette’s Being the Best You Can Be classes will begin Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Hagerstown Presbyterian Church. 20 S. Prospect St.
Girls ages 7 to 17 will attend free classes that will teach them about poise, assertiveness, social skills (home and school) table manners, manners, self-confidence and self-esteem.
Summer jam to be held Sunday
The Mary Washington Foundation’s Youth Summer Jam will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wheaton Park.
Two stretch limousines will be waiting to give free rides to children.
The sounds from DJ Tracy G, along with other live bands and other regional performers, will make it a fun day for all.
Last movie night to be held Saturday
The last movie of the summer on the Memorial Recreation Center parking lot will be shown Saturday at 8:45 p.m., featuring the movie “Gnomeo & Juliet.”
Those ages 10 and younger must be accompanied by someone 16 and older. Bring lawn chairs.
