Weather-related closings, cancellations

August 26, 2011
  • People work in front of a large map of Hurricane Irene at F.E.M.A.'s Regional Response Coordinating Center in Atlanta on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011. The Region 4 center has been directing resources from several agencies preparing to move into place relief for storm victims. For hundreds of miles, as many as 65 million people along the densely populated East Coast warily waited Friday for a dangerous hurricane that has the potential to inflict billions of dollars in damages anywhere within that urban sprawl that arcs from Washington and Baltimore through Philadelphia, New York, Boston and beyond.
