Maryland Film Festival-Hagerstown planned for October

The first Maryland International Film Festival-Hagerstown has selected 51 films from 19 countries to screen at the 2011  film festival.

The Maryland International Film Festival Hagerstown (MDIFF) is scheduled to run Thursday, Oct. 13, to Sunday, Oct. 16.

Opening night of the festival will be launched at The Maryland Theatre, 21 S. Potomac St., downtown Hagerstown.

Celebrities expected to attend are Director Joe Carnahan ("The A Team"), Matthew Michael Carnahan ("World War Z," "Lions for Lambs"), Tom Sizemore ("Saving Private Ryan"), Robin Givens ("Boomerang"), Hector Jimenez ("Nacho Libre"), Kevin Farley ("Tommy Boy") and Olga Segura ("White Knight").

A portion of opening night ticket sales will be donated to Barbara Ingram School for the Arts.
