Margie Louise Johnson, 85, of Waynesboro, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011, at Colestock Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at Quincy Village.

Born Dec. 16, 1925, in Okolona, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Richard and Dicie Harrington.

For many years, Margie was a resident of Hagerstown, and attended Rehoboth United Methodist Church in Williamsport, Md. In more recent years, she attended Rouzerville United Methodist Church in Waynesboro.

She was formerly employed for several years by Fairchild Engine and Airplane Corp., and later with Mack Trucks Inc., both in Hagerstown. After retiring from Mack Trucks, she worked in various clerical positions for Manpower Temporary Services. Her last employer was Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport, where she proudly earned her CNA certification. She truly enjoyed visiting with and caring for the patients there.

She is survived by one son, Harvey M. Johnson Jr. of Waynesboro; five grandchildren, Bethanie Arrowood of Lake Placid, Fla., David Hardt of Walnut Creek, Calif., Michael Hardt of Houston, Texas, Marieke Johnson of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Neil Johnson, who is stationed in Newport News, Va.; six great-grandchildren; three brothers, Richard Harrington of Lonoke, Ark., Jimmy Harrington of Arkadelphia, Ark., and Johnny Harrington of Oak Ridge, La.; and three sisters, Sherrell Senn of Ridgeley, W.Va., Wilma Harris of Venice, Fla., and Linda Spradlin of Arkadelphia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harvey Mirten Johnson Sr.; two sisters, Helen Adcock of Westwood, Calif., and Mary Harris of Arkadelphia; and one brother, Jack Harrington of Magnolia, Ark.

Arrangements were by Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, Waynesboro. No public services were held.

Margie was a giving and loving mother and grandmother. She was loved by her family and will surely be missed.
