HAGERSTOWN — The southbound lane of Nottingham Road is closed between West Church Street and West Franklin Street (U.S. 40).

Workers from Henson & Son are repaving the street in that location, Henson & Son employee Bob Bond said. The street needed to be repaved and the concrete on the sidewalk needed to be replaced because Columbia Gas put a new gas main in that area, Bond said.

The street has been closed periodically for more than two weeks, according to Bond. He added that crews eventually expect to repave the road from West Church Street all the way to Washington Street (Md. 144).

Weather permitting, the street could reopen completely between between West Church Street and West Franklin Street (U.S. 40) by Monday, Bond said.
