Big band sound

A concert featuring the Hagerstown Municipal Band “Big Band,” under the direction of Joel Guyton, will be held Sunday, starting at 7:30 p.m. at Hagerstown City Park’s band shell.

The musical group will perform a variety of oldies and newer songs with the traditional big band sound. For more information, go to www.hagerstownband.org.



Day care program

The Parents’ Day Out program at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, at 1020 Maryland Ave., is still accepting registration for those ages 1 to 5 for fall classes that start Thursday, Sept. 8.

Children learn through games, stories, and other activities while socializing with others their age. The cost for attendance is $20 per day. The program is held each Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. from September to May. All teachers are CPR certified. For more information, call 301-739-7431 or 301-791-1773.



Preschool open house  

Open Arms Christian Child Development Center, a preschool for 3- and 4-year-olds, will host an open house Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. The preschool is at Concordia Lutheran Church off Downsville Pike. Three-day classes meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Two-day classes meet Wednesday and Thursday mornings. A few openings are still available for this school year.

Classic car cruise-in planned in Williamsport

A classic car cruise-in will be held Friday, Sept. 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Town Center in Williamsport.
