Hagerstown officials are trying to determine whether a truck that struck a guy wire caused nearly 4,000 City Light customers to lose electrical power Wednesday morning, City Communications Manager Mary King said.
King said power was restored at about 7:30 a.m. to 3,788 customers who are served by the Frederick Street and Wesel Boulevard substations.
A witness reported at about 6:43 a.m. that a yellow box truck struck a guy wire at the corner of Frederick Street and Wilson Boulevard, King said.
Workers were investigating whether the incident caused the outage.
