Virginia E. Householder, 88, of Palm City, Fla., died Aug.  21, 2011, at Palm City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  

Born in Berkeley Springs, W.Va., she had been a resident of Palm City for 31 years, coming from Hagerstown, Md. She was a homemaker. She also had been an executive secretary for the Washington County, Md., school board.

Survivors include her husband, Virgil R. Householder Sr. of Palm City; sons, Virgil R. Householder Jr. of Raleigh, N.C., and Van R. Householder of Bonita Springs, Fla.; a daughter, Vicki Hornbecker of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by brothers Franklin Michael, John Michael and Robert Michael.

There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at First United Methodist Church, Stuart, Fla. Inurnment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City.
