Two injured in accident near Mack Trucks

MAUGANSVILLE — Two people were taken to Meritus Medical Center on Sunday afternoon after a two-vehicle accident near the Maugans Avenue entrance to Mack Trucks, according to Washington County Emergency Services and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident was reported at 3:05 p.m., police said.

A third person from the accident refused to be taken to the hospital, a 911 dispatcher said.

Man punched by men who tried to rob him

FREDERICK, Md. — A man was punched Saturday afternoon after he was approached by a group of men and asked for money, according to a news release from the Frederick Police Department.

The man was walking in the area of Old Camp Road around 4:50 p.m. when a group of five to 10 men approached, police said. About three of the men broke off from the group and approached him, with one asking for his money, police said.

When he told them he didn’t have any money, one of the men punched him before he could run away, police said.

Rite Aid on Key Parkway robbed by armed man

FREDERICK, Md. — The Rite Aid on Key Parkway was robbed after a man entered the store Saturday night and displayed a handgun, according to a news release from the Frederick Police Department.

No one was injured, police said.

The man entered the store around 8:30 p.m. Saturday and demanded money from a store employee, police said.

The man got away with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.

The man was described as a thin black man wearing a camouflage cap, a black Windbreaker with two white stripes down the sleeves, blue jeans, and dark-colored sneakers with white edges on the soles.

Battery stolen from farm tractor in Pa.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — Someone stole a black Interstate battery from a farm tractor in the 8600 block of Helman Road northwest of Waynesboro between 8 p.m. Friday and 5:30 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania State Police.

The value of the stolen property is about $80, police said.

It appears an attempt was made to steal another tractor battery from a different vehicle as well, police said.

Dozen batteries stolen from Pa. tractors

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Twelve batteries were reported stolen from tractors in the 8400 block of Wayne Road south of Chambersburg on Friday morning, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania State Police.

The batteries were stolen by cutting the copper cables from the tractors, police said.

Copper piping stolen from Pa. home

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Copper piping was stolen from a home in the 1600 block of Richardson Drive between July 20 and Aug. 17, according to a news release from the Pennsylvania State Police.

The copper piping went from the home’s oil tank to the underside of the home, police said.
