Waynesboro Indians kicking off season with community event

August 18, 2011

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — The Waynesboro Area Senior High School Indians football program will kick off its football season a little early this year with a "Restore the Order" community event under the stadium lights tonight from 6 to 9:45.

The purpose of the event is to invite the community to participate in an evening of fun-filled games, including a dunk tank; moon bounce; punt, pass and kick contest; and other carnival-style games.

Food will be available for purchase as well as 50/50 raffle tickets, and strip ticket chances for adults. Team spirit wear will be available for purchase and special order.

Food sales, games, and activities will begin at 6 p.m., along with the Waynesboro Indians Quarterback Club Lift-a-Thon, the annual fundraiser for the club. Later in the evening, the high school, middle school, KYFL Quincy Panthers and Waynesboro Stallions football players, coaches, and cheerleaders will be introduced, as well as past Waynesboro Tigers football members.

The football program will begin a community food drive this night that will continue at each home game. Canned food and nonperishable food items are requested to be left in the donation box to be delivered to area food banks.

Admission for adults will be a $2 donation to the Indians football program. High school and middle school students, and children will be admitted free. Tickets for games and activities will be sold.
