Family Buck Night planned at pool Monday

Family Buck Night, the back-to-school bash at the Williamsport Swimming Pool in Byron Memorial Park, will be Monday from 6 to 10 p.m.

Everything costs $1, including admission to the pool, grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, soda and water.

Outdoor Movie Night

Outdoor Movie Night will be Friday, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 35 W. Potomac St. in Williamsport.

The event will include a free cookout and games, then the showing of a family-friendly movie. The public is invited.

In case of rain, activities will move inside.

Church plans yard sale

Calvary Temple, 147 S. Conococheague St., will hold a yard sale Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a food stand and bake sale.

Proceeds will benefit the church’s youth programs.

Luau to support local youth wrestling

The inaugural Williamsport Wrestling Club/Police Athletic League Crab Pickin’ Luau takes place Saturday, Aug. 27, at Hager Hall Conference and Event Center on Dual Highway in Hagerstown. Doors open at 4 p.m.

The luau features all-you-can-eat Maryland blue crabs and a full buffet.

Planned giveaways include baseball and football tickets, memorabilia, gift certificates and other items.

Tickets cost $40 for all-you-can-eat crabs and the buffet; or $25 for the all-you-can-eat buffet only. Beer is included with either ticket.

The event benefits Williamsport Wrestling Club and Police Athletic League youth wrestling.

Leitersburg Cinemas plans ‘Shrek’ event tonight

Leitersburg Cinemas, 20135 Leitersburg Pike in Hagerstown, in partnership with PRAY (Providing Relief for Autistic Youth Inc.), will have a free, sensory-friendly showing of “Shrek Forever After” today from 7 to 9:30 p.m.

During the event, the auditorium will have the lights on and the sound turned down.

The audience is invited to get up and walk around, dance and sing. Anyone on a medical diet is allowed to bring their own food and drink.
