P. Jean Ridenour, 79, a resident of Julia Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, at the nursing home.

She was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Williamsport, Md., to the late Albert Ridenour and Thelma I. Socks Banzhoff.

She was employed by Martin's Food Market for more than 40 years until retiring in 2003. She previously worked at Ardinger's Store in Williamsport.

She was a member of Pinesburg Mennonite Church, Pinesburg, Md.

Survivors include brother, Jim Banzhoff of Chambersburg, Pa.; brother, Emmert Banzhoff Jr. of Chambersburg; brother, Amos Banzhoff of Hagerstown; brother, David Banzhoff of Hagerstown; brother, John Banzhoff of Halfway, Md.; sister, Thelma Keeney of Williamsport; sister, Sandy Goltz of Halfway; sister, Belle Eger of Hagerstown; sister, Edna Beard of Hagerstown; sister, Betty Mauk of Hagerstown; sister, Ruth Eavey of Hagerstown; and sister, Pearl Simpson of Keedysville, Md.

She was predeceased by her stepfather, Emmert E. Banzhoff Sr.; two brothers, Lewis Ridenour and Howard Banzhoff; and one sister, Rena Merbaugh.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Friday, Aug. 19, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Friday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Pinesburg Mennonite Church on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at 11 a.m. with the Revs. Jared Petre, Dale Horst, Nathan Rohrer and James Martin. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be in Pinesburg Mennonite Cemetery.
