HAGERSTOWN — The westbound lane of West Antietam Street was closed Tuesday to all traffic between Burhans Boulevard and Washington Street.

The lane has been closed since 7 a.m.

Work crews from the City of Hagerstown Department of Public Works are repairing a storm drainage line on that block, according to the City of Hagerstown. The work involves excavation and trenching in the westbound lane to reach the storm drain.

Detours have been set up for traffic approaching the area.

The lane closure is expected to remain in effect until Thursday afternoon.

Although eastbound traffic can still exit Washington Avenue onto West Antietam Street, the eastbound lane of West Antietam Street remains closed to all traffic between Burhans Boulevard and Walnut Street.

Traffic heading southbound on Burhans Boulevard will not be able turn onto West Antietam Street in either direction.

Closure in that location is expected to remain in effect until 5 p.m. Friday.
