Woman, child injured in accident on I-270

FREDERICK, Md. — A Frederick woman and a 2-year-old in her car were taken to different hospitals after a collision on Interstate 270, south of Frederick, on Friday night, according to Maryland State Police.

Around 8:20 p.m. Friday, a 2005 Mitsubishi Galant was heading south on I-270 in the area of Baker Valley Road when the car collided with the front of a 2006 Dodge Stratus, according to a news release from the state police.

Seyda Laurie Johnson Wagner, 25, of Frederick, was driving the Mitsubishi and was flown to the University of Maryland R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, police said.

Wagner’s condition was not available Sunday night.

The 2-year-old in her car was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital for precautionary reasons, police said.

Calvin Wayne Lockhart II, 41, of Martinsburg, W.Va., was driving the Dodge, police said.

Another vehicle, that was heading north on I-270 was struck with debris from the collision, police said.

The accident closed some portions of I-270 for almost two hours, police said.

Flickersville Road crash under investigation

MCCONNELLSBURG, Pa. — Police said they are continuing to investigate a crash on Flickersville Road Friday that involved a 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse that struck a traffic sign, a mailbox and a tree, Pennsylvania State Police said.

Tera L. Quarantillo, 22, of 165 Harmison Lane, Berkeley Springs, W.Va., lost control of the car while traveling through a left turn on the road in Bethel Township, state police said.

The car sustained major damage but Quarantillo was not hurt, state police said.

Man injured when motorcycle, car collide

MERCERSBURG, Pa. — A 55-year-old man with serious injuries was flown to York (Pa.) Hospital Saturday afternoon after a car pulled out in front of the motorcycle he was driving, according to a Pennsylvania State Police news release.

Carl Eugene Johnson, 55, address unavailable, was in stable condition Sunday night at York Hospital, authorities said.

Johnson was driving a 2001 Harley-Davidson north on Welsh Run Road, also known as Pa. 995, shortly before 1:30 p.m. Saturday when a 1995 Honda Civic pulled out of a driveway in the 11900 block of Welsh Run Road and into the path of the motorcycle, state police said.

The motorcycle hit the car’s front bumper and then slid across the road, state police said.

The car was driven by Daniel Jarrett Locklin, 18, address unavailable.

No further information was available.Pa. man charged with indecent assault


BREEZEWOOD, Pa. — A Harrisonville, Pa., man faces numerous indecent assault charges for incidents that occurred between Jan. 1 and Aug. 3 northeast of Breezewood, according to Pennsylvania State Police in McConnellsburg.

Two girls, one 6 and the other 9, were touched in their genital areas on multiple occasions, police said.
The man, whose name The Herald-Mail is not publishing in order to protect the victims, was sent to the Franklin County Jail on Friday to be held in lieu of $150,000 bond, state police said.

The man, 50, was charged with four counts each of indecent assault, corruption of minors, indecent assault with a person younger than 13, and indecent assault of a person younger than 16 when the accused is four or more years older, according to state police.

Franklin County agencies respond to fire, transport calls

Police agencies in Franklin County, Pa., responded to numerous incidents overnight Saturday, but none were serious, according to an email from the Franklin County Department of Emergency Services.

  • Chambersburg Fire Department responding to a fire alarm at 58 S. Second St. in Chambersburg at 11:48 p.m. Saturday.

  • Metal Township Fire Department responded to 10862 Path Valley Road to set up a landing zone for a Life Net helicopter to transport a patient at approximately midnight Saturday.
