Two sent to hospital in Blue Ridge Summit accident

BLUE RIDGE SUMMIT, Pa. — Two people were being taken to Meritus Medical Center Sunday morning after a three-vehicle collision in Blue Ridge Summit that left one vehicle on top of another and one person entrapped, according to Franklin County Emergency Services.


The collision at the intersection of Monterey Lane and Buchanan Trail East, also known as Pa. 16, was reported at 8:57 a.m. Sunday, a 911 dispatcher said.


The person who was entrapped was removed from the vehicle at 9:30 a.m., the dispatcher said.


Other than the two taken to Meritus near Hagerstown, the people involved in the accident refused treatment, the dispatcher said.


Washington Township Police and firefighters from Blue Ridge Summit were still at the scene around 10 a.m., he said.
