Applicants sought for board of traffic and parking

August 11, 2011

HAGERSTOWN — The city of Hagerstown is still seeking applicants to serve on its board of traffic and parking.

Mary King, city communications manager, said in an email that there are three available positions on the five-member advisory board, which reviews issues pertaining to parking and traffic in Hagerstown.

The deadline to submit an application is Aug. 22, King said.

The board meets the second Thursday of each month at 4 p.m. at City Hall in the engineering office, and meetings generally last about an hour, she said.

The Hagerstown City Council will determine which applicants will be the new members of the board.

Those chosen will serve four-year terms, King said.

Applicants must be city residents or taxpayers, or do business in the city, according to the city website.

Those who meet the application requirements and have experience in traffic management, parking management, law enforcement, engineering or leadership in neighborhood groups are encouraged to apply, King said.

Interested individuals can obtain an application from City Clerk Donna Spickler's office by calling 301-739-8577 x 113 or online at
