GOLF
Matt Snowden shot a 78 to win the WACO Junior Golf championship on Monday at Beaver Creek Country Club, also winning one of three $500 scholarship awards.
Scot Drury and Andrew Miguel tied for second with 80s and each won a $500 scholarship award.
Miguel also won the Harry Zimmerman Good Sportsmanship Award.
Vinny Steiner shot a 45 to win the WACO 9-hole title.
Snowden, Drury, Chad Shindle, Nik Steiner, Nathan Redmond, Garrett Hull and Vinny Steiner all qualified for a spot in the Tri-State Junior Golf Association Tournament of Champions Monday at Beaver Creek.

Girls softball registration
Registration for the Washington County Girls Softball League fall ball program will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the Kemps Mill Softball Complex in Williamsport. The league is open to girls in grades 3 through 8 and registration fee is $20. For information, contact Steve at 301-223-9078.
