Boonsboro High School’s Class of 1959 will hold a 70th birthday luncheon Saturday, Aug. 20, at 1 p.m. at Western Sizzlin Steakhouse on York Road in Halfway. If you haven’t registered, call 301-791-7115 and leave a message or just show up at the luncheon. All classmates are encouraged to attend.

Class of 1977

Boonsboro High School’s Class of 1977 is working hard to stay connected. The class members will meet to begin preparations for their 35th class reunion in 2012. The meeting will be Sunday, Aug. 21, at 6 p.m. at the home of Sherry Reeder Bingaman.

 Library news

The Boonsboro Library continues to offer programming for young and more seasoned patrons.

  • Toddler time for those ages 18 to 36 months takes place Tuesdays at 11 a.m.  
  • A preschool story time is offered Wednesdays at 3:30 p.m. for ages 3 and older.  
  • Lap sit, a program designed for those 18 months and younger, is on Fridays at 11 a.m.
  • Dream Catcher Crafts are planned for the teen summer wrap on Aug. 16 at 6 p.m.
  • The summer reading program will wrap up with a party on Aug. 17 at 3:30 p.m. with a theme of “It’s a Small World After All.”

Animals available

It’s getting a bit crowded at Animal Kingdom Rescue. Many cats, kittens and dogs are now available for adoption, many with waived adoption fees. The animals are fully vaccinated, including rabies, and are spayed and neutered. The animals need permanent homes. For more information, call 301-582-3353.
