Mail Call - Aug. 5

August 05, 2011

“This is in response to the Hagerstown caller that says under FDR, the Democratic regime was identical to President Obama’s, and he goes on to criticize every Democratic president and their policies for the debt ceiling, and in 2006 nobody scared anybody for the debt ceiling under Bush. That’s because the whole Congress was run by Republicans, and they just ramrodded it through. So yeah, they can raise the debt ceiling anytime they want. Bush did it many times. Same way with Reagan. I get so tired of — these partisan Republicans never see the light. And he also must be a Limbaugh caller, because he calls them regimes. They’re not regimes. These are elected presidents.”

— Hagerstown

“A simple solution: Get out of Afghanistan. We send them money and we spend so much money per day, it would take care of all of our current problems. Get out of Afghanistan.”

— Smithsburg
