Hagerstown police arrested a man who jumped out of the window of a downtown building following a domestic incident with a woman Friday night.

Lt. Paul Kifer said the man was barricaded in an apartment at 41 1/2 S. Potomac St. when police arrived shortly after 10 p.m. for a call that involved a woman being thrown down a staircase.

"As the units rolled up in front he jumped out of the window," Kifer said. "He was apprehended right then and there."

He said the man, who name was not available late Friday night, was not injured. The woman suffered minor injuries.

A witness at the scene said she saw the man jump from a third-story window.
