Repair work on the Fairview Road (Md. 494) bridge over the Conococheague Creek just north of Broadfording is expected to be completed today, said Victor Cruz, foreman for Concrete General.

The work included repairing the pier, repairing the concrete and patching the surface.

Cruz said that the finishing touches would be put on today. That includes finishing the panels and sealing up the joints.

Work on the bridge began at the end of June, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration's website. The project has required lane closures during weekdays.

Although Cruz said work on the bridge is expected to be completed today, both lanes of the bridge could still be subjected to closure until next Friday, Aug. 12, according to the Maryland State Highway Administration's website.
