HAGERSTOWN — The right lane of East Washington Street (U.S. 40 eastbound) between Locust Street and Cannon Avenue was closed Friday morning as a crew from Miller Pipeline works on the sewer lines in the area, Scott Oaster of Miller Pipeline said.

The sewer lines near the intersection of East Washington and Mulberry streets were being cleaned out and relined, Oaster said. The work required East Washington Street to be partially blocked off Friday.

Traffic on East Washington Street is moving slowly from Summit Avenue to Cannon Avenue.

Oaster said the road would completely reopen Friday afternoon.

Miller Pipeline was contracted by the City of Hagerstown to work on the sewer lines in the area, according to Oaster.
