Church to host evangelist

Greenbrier Baptist Church, at the corner of Md. 66 and U.S. 40 north of Boonsboro, will host evangelist Dennis Benton Sunday at 11 a.m. Benton will bring the word through gospel music and ministry. The public is invited.

Basket bingo planned

Boonsboro American Legion Clopper-Michael Post 10 will hold a basket and money bingo Saturday, Aug. 13. The doors open at 4 p.m. and bingo starts at 6 p.m.
Tickets cost $20. There will be 20 regular games and five specials. Participants must be 18 to play, and no outside refreshments will be permitted. Tickets can be purchased by calling 301-432-5695 or by calling Rose Moats at 301-432-6103.

Potluck picnic planned

Citizens for the Preservation of Pleasant Valley will hold a potluck picnic Sunday, Aug. 21, beginning at 4 p.m.

The event will be held at the campgrounds, at 1212 Harpers Ferry Road. Follow the signs once on the property.

Lemonade and paper goods will be provided. There will be plenty of parking spaces and picnic tables. There is also a pavilion. Bring insect repellent. For more information, send an email to

Yard sale to be held

Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, at 33 Potomac St., Boonsboro, will have vendor and yard sale spaces available for rent on Friday, Sept. 9, and Saturday, Sept. 10, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. during Boonesborough Days.

Inside and outside spaces are available for $15 per day. Tables are provided. To reserve a space or for additional information, call the church at 301-432-2247.

Rug-hooking guild to meet at library

Hands and Hearts rug hooking guild will meet at Boonsboro Library Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The public is invited.
