August 01, 2011

ORLANDO, Fla. — Students from two Washington County high schools performed at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida last spring.

The Barbara Ingram School for the Arts’ Music Theatre Ensemble members became stars of their own Disney show June 7 when they traveled from Hagerstown to the Walt Disney World Resort to take part in a Disney Performing Arts Program.

The Clear Spring High School Blazer Marching Band traveled to Walt Disney World to perform April 2 and 3.

Dance groups, choirs, ensembles and marching bands from around the world apply to perform each year as part of Disney Performing Arts at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.

Once selected, they are given the opportunity to perform at the resorts for an international  audience of theme-park guests.

Millions of performers have graced the stages of the Disney Parks in the more than 25-year history of the  program.

Disney Performing Arts offers band, choral, dance and auxiliary performers  the opportunity to learn, perform and compete at the Walt Disney World Resort.
