Vince Hellane Jr., 53, passed from this world Monday, July 18, 2011, to continue his adventure in the next. He quietly departed from Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family and friends. We will miss his sense of humor and wily ways, his humanity and compassion. As an organ donor, he has given the gift of life to others around the country.

Born in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of James Vincent "Vince" and Nancy Larimore Hellane. Vince was an entrepreneur and a visionary, and an inspiration to all his family and friends. Vince was the founder and president of d'Vinci Interactive Inc., a computer-based e-learning business, located in the Arts and Entertainment District of downtown Hagerstown. In addition to his parents, Vince is survived by his loving wife, Pat, and young daughter; his "adopted" son, Meylis Ateyev; sister, Julia Ann Hellane of Maugansville; brother, Timothy Michael Hellane of Greencastle, Pa.; nephews, Darren "DJ" Reeder of Hagerstown, and Gregory Thomas Vincent Pheabus and Andrew Garrott Pheabus of Maugansville; aunts, Julia Elizabeth Hellane Garrott of Williamsport, Md., Frances Margaret Larimore of Smithsburg, Md., Peggy Hellane of Elkton, Md., and Frances Hellane of Hagerstown; uncle, Richard K. (Edwina) Larimore of Hagerstown; and cousins John W. Garrott Jr. of Williamsport, David A. Garrott of Wilmington, Del., Joseph Glenn Hellane III of Hagerstown, David Lee Hellane of Smithsburg, Peggy Hellane Morrissey of Elkton and John Thomas Hellane III of Newark, Del.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph G. "Jack" and Ruth Hellane of Hagerstown, and Walter K. and May Stauffer Larimore of Edgemont, Md.; and uncles, Joseph Glenn Hellane Jr., John Thomas Hellane Sr. and John Warren Garrott Sr. of Hagerstown, and Edward Stauffer Larimore of Edgemont.

A memorial service will be Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Greencastle Presbyterian Church, 57 W. Baltimore St., Greencastle.

On Saturday, Aug. 13, there will be a celebration of his life for those who considered him a friend, including family, friends and business associates. Please respond to partyman@dvinci.com to be included. This will be a time to share stories of how Vince touched your life.
