SALISBURY, Md. — The Delmarva Shorebirds rallied for four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to beat the Hagerstown Suns 8-7 on Friday night.

It was the fourth straight loss for the Suns, who fell to 16-17 in the second half of the South Atlantic League season.

Delmarva (14-20) trailed 7-4 before rallying against Suns reliever Wilson Eusebio (0-6) in the eighth. The Shorebirds loaded the bases with no outs, and Joe Oliveira hit a two-run double to make it 7-6. Two runs then scored on an error by shortstop Jason Martinson.

The Suns jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first. Blake Kelso and David Freitas each walked and Kevin Keyes hit a three-run homer to left — his 10th home run of the season.

The Shorebirds cut their deficit to 3-2 in the third on a two-run homer by Oliveira. They tied it at 3-3 in the fifth on a walk, passed ball and error.

The Suns went up 4-3 in the sixth. Adrian Sanchez singled, stole second and scored on a single by Freitas.

Delmarva tied the game at 4-4 in the seventh on an RBI single by Garabez Rosa.

The Suns went up 7-4 in the top of the eighth. After Blake Kelso walked and Sanchez reached on a bunt, Freitas greeted reliever Randy Henry (4-0) with a three-run homer to left — his 12th blast of the season.

But the lead was short-lived.
